Agensi Kaunseling dan Pengurusan Kredit (AKPK)

Agensi Kaunseling dan Pengurusan Kredit (AKPK) is an agency set up by Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) in April 2006 to help individuals take control of their financial situation and gain peace of mind that comes from the wise use of credit. To achieve the goals, AKPK offers services of Finance Education, Counselling and Debt Management to the public for free.

More than 60 people in Malaysia were declared bankrupt daily in Year 2013, particularly those between 35 years old and 44 years old. The lack of knowledge in basic principles of finance was the main reason many people, both young and old, found themselves in financial difficulties.

In order to address the financial issues among Malaysians, AKPK is providing practical financial education program called "POWER! Managing Your Debts Effectively" to educate the public to be financially savvy. POWER! is open to all Malaysians aged 18 and above, with different sessions conducted in English, Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin and Tamil in various AKPK offices.

AKPK also provides an avenue where the public can turn to for advice and counselling on personal financial-related matters. Along with that, individuals deep in the clutches of debt are also given an opportunity to get their life back on track through the provision of structured debt management services by AKPK.

If you are interested to learn more about AKPK and its services, you may visit its website here. There's a lot of information and useful tools that help us to have better financial management just like the mission of AKPK, "Make Prudent Financial Management A Way Of Life".
