Ninetology Pearl Mini with Pakej Komunikasi Belia

After Alcatel One Touch Glory 2S and CSL Switch Star Neo Mi363, Ninetology has joined in the race to give subscribers of Pakej Komunikasi Belia (PKB) exclusive discount to purchase its smartphone, the Pearl Mini, at a price of RM 99, from 15th June until 15th August 2013.

 


The smartphone recommended retail price (RRP) is RM 399. With PKB RM 200 deduction and additional RM 100 rebate from Ninetology for the Hari Raya Promotion, the phone is only RM 99 to the eligible customer.

How to Activate Tune Talk Pakej Komunikasi Belia

The Tune Talk PKB mobile prepaid package SIM card that comes with the free CSL smartphone is not registered. The SIM card is precut in mini SIM size to cater for phones that require mini SIM.

If you flip over the other side of the Tune Talk card, you will find your phone number at top right corner while the SIM card's PIN, PUK, serial number and expiry date are printed on lower centre. A bar code and serial number on the left is actually the certificate number of the free RM 100000 PA insurance by Tune Talk.

 

Although you inserted the SIM card into your phone and had network coverage, you can make no calls without registering and activating the SIM card. To register, you need to send Tune Talk a copy of your IC by email or fax, together with phone number and SIM serial number. Once Tune Talk received the information, your SIM card will be registered and activated within 24 hours.

After your SIM card is activated, you're able to start to make or receive phone calls and text messaging only. Data will be available within 24 hours after SIM card is successfully activated. I would advise you to turn off data to avoid the balance being used up. To activate the data plan for PKB, you need to SMS "BEL" to 2222. RM 0.10 will be deducted from your balance. You will receive a confirmation SMS for the data plan activation. 

After one hour, you can start enjoying 300MB data, 30mins local calls and 30 SMS for free during the first month. You may continue the plan for second month with only RM 20 reload. It's really worth, isn't it?

CSL Switch Star Neo Mi 363 PKB

I redeemed a CSL Switch Star Neo Mi 363 with TuneTalk mobile prepaid package with Pakej Komunikasi Belia last weekend in Tesco. This is the snapshot of the package:

What's also inside the box? A charger, USB cable, earphone, warranty, user manual, battery and two screen  protectors.

Steps to open the rear case: (Added 22th June 2013)
1. Look for the mic location at the bottom right of the phone.

2. Left fingers hold on the sides of the screen, then use right thumb nail to push out the edge of the rear case.

The phone does not come with a getting started guide. The user manual is purely text based without any picture. So it took quite a while for me to figure out how to open up the rear part to put in SIM card and battery. The TuneTalk SIM card is also not registered. I'll share on how to get it activated in my next post. Stay tuned.

Free CSL Smartphone with Pakej Komunikasi Belia

CSL has partnered with Tune Talk to launched its new Switch Star Neo Mi363 smartphone with a package  that makes the smartphone virtually free to subscribers of Pakej Komunikasi Belia (PKB).

The smartphone recommended retail price (RRP) is RM 349. With PKB RM 200 deduction and additional RM 150 rebate from CSL, the phone is essentially free to the eligible customer. The bundled Tune Talk package comes with a free SIM card that is inclusive of 300MB data access, 30 local SMS and 30 minutes of local talk time for the first month of subscription. Loyal subscribers will enjoy further 200MB data per month from the second to sixth months.

Digi PKB Free Smartphone

Digi is giving out free smartphone, Alcatel One Touch Glory 2S, exclusively for those who apply the DG Prepaid Smart Plan via Pakej Komunikasi Belia.

For those who qualify for PKB, you just need to pay RM 50 for DG Prepaid Smart Plan (SKMM) Edition and you can get the phone for free. The RM 50 starter pack has a 3-month validity, free 30 mins voice call and 30 SMS for all local networks and 1.5GB of data.

According to Digi website, the free phone should come with a free 2GB memory card as well. Also, the phone is originally SIM locked, which means you can only use it for Digi SIM card. However, you can call to Digi careline to manual unlock the phone.
