e-Waste Alam Alliance Recycling Program

Electronic waste (e-waste) is a definition for computers, office electronic equipment, entertainment device electronics, mobile phones, television sets and refrigerators which are destined for reuse, resale, salvage, recycling or disposal.In Malaysia, e-waste disposal from the industrial sector was 134035 tonnes in Year 2009 and had increased to 163339 tonnes in Year 2010. A total 700000 tonnes of e-waste had been produced by households, the industrial sector and institutions.

Senheng recently launched an e-waste disposal facility at its headquarters. The program, known as e-Waste Alam Alliance Recycling, is carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to ensure that the waste is disposed of in an environmental friendly manner. The program includes proper collection, segregation and the recycling of e-waste to encourage the public to manage the waste effectively through recovery and reduction of contaminants.

Senheng will be offering the public with two responsible ways to manage e-waste. Firstly, cash voucher will be given if the non-bulky e-waste items listed below are carried-in at any Senheng/senQ outlets:

• Projector
• Personal Computer (Desktop & Notebook)
• Printer
• Mobile Phone & Tablet
• VCD, DVD Player and etc.

Secondly, free collection service of e-waste items as stated below will be offered on call, and also to any customer upon delivery of purchase of new home appliances in any Senheng/senQ outlets:

• TV (Brown Tube & Flat Type)
• Refrigerator
• Washing Machine 
• Air Conditioner
