RHB Friday Specials 2013 Wave 2

RHB Friday Specials is back with its Wave 2 promotion, starting from today until 27th December 2013! This promotion is applicable to all RHB Bank and Easy by RHB Credit or Debit cardmembers.

CIMB Weekly Cash Back Promotion

Hari Raya Aidilfitri is just around the corner and CIMB is giving out a total cash back of RM 700000 to its Credit Card and Debit Card members on spending from 5th August until 13th October 2013.

The campaign is open to CIMB Principal and Supplementary Cardmembers, as well as CIMB Debit Cardmembers. Each Principal Cardmember and Debit Cardmember can get RM 250 cash back for spending at least RM 1000 in a week. Cash back of RM 70000 is allocated weekly and is given out on first come first served basis.

The maximum cash back per Principal Cardmember and Debit Cardmember is RM 250 each. So if you have a CIMB Credit Card and CIMB Debit Card, you can earn RM 500 with spending of RM 1000 in each card.

To participate, cardmembers need to register via SMS only once during the campaign period:

Tune BIG Card

Tune BIG is a reward program which you can earn loyalty points (BIG Points) for free AirAsia flights. There are two types of membership, one with free membership and no card issuance, another is a 2-in-1 member card cum VISA Prepaid debit card.

Both types of membership let you earn points on flights and shopping (shopBIG), redeem free flights and hotel packages. For the BIG Visa Prepaid, you just need to pay RM 10 for one time joining fee, then you will be entitled to earn BIG Points (RM 2 = 1 BIG Point) whenever you spend at any VISA accepted merchants worldwide and BIG Partners. Besides, there is no processing fee imposed if you pay your AirAsia booking with BIG Visa Prepaid.

You can also convert your loyalty points from participating partners to BIG Points in order to fly for free. Redemptions are available at a mere start from 100 BIG Points.

Debit MasterCard 1-for-1 Movie Tickets

MasterCard's Delectable 1-for-1 Deal is back! With Debit MasterCard, you can enjoy 1-for-1 movie tickets at Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC) every Monday to Wednesday from 15th May to 15th July 2013.

The promotion is valid only for tickets purchased at GSC and not applicable for tickets purchased online or via mobile applications. Each cardholder will be entitled to one free ticket per transaction per day regardless of the total number of movie ticket purchased. Total 10000 movie tickets will be given away during the campaign.

JustOne Current Account & JustOne Savings Account

This is a post in response to my earlier post about Current Account. Standard Chartered Bank has recently come up with a new type of 2-in-1 account known as JustOne Current Account and JustOne Savings Account. What is so special about this account?

JustOne Current Account:

• *Free Interbank GIRO Fund Transfers via Standard Chartered Online Banking and ATMs in Malaysia.

The Free IBG is really attractive to me as I have a few cards from different banks like OCBC Titanium Card, UOB One Card and Maybankard 2. I'm using Maybank2u for the transfer, each IBG I will be charged RM 2. So I need to pay RM 4 each month just to settle my credit cards.

Free IBGs, unlimited free ATM withdrawals, free Debit Card, all these really sound too good to be true. So I went to the nearest SCB branch to enquire about this account. I got a confirmation from the customer service that we do not need to pay RM 8 for the annual fees of Debit Card and all the stated benefits. 

So I straight away signed up for the account and I was given a MEPS DDA (Direct Debit Authorization) Form to directly bank in RM 1500 from other bank to JustOne Current Account monthly. There is no charge incurred for that. I spent around 30 mins for the whole process and the Debit Card was given to me on the spot. 

This account is really very convenient, can save you a lot of time and money if you have credit cards, mortgage, hire purchase or loans from different banks. I strongly recommend JustOne Current Account as you do not have to rush to banks to settle payments anymore or being over charged for online IBG transaction and yet you can enjoy 2% interest p.a. for your money in JustOne Savings Account.

Popular Bookstore Sales

This October, Popular bookstore has launched a 70% discount (70% for Popular card members, 50% for non-members) for over 100000 Chinese books. The books are distributed across all the branches nationwide. So you might be able to find different titles in different branches.
