Last week, I received a call from Citibank to offer me the Citibank Clear Card with one year annual fee waiver and RM 50 GST rebate. This card is actually more suitable for me compared to the Citibank Rewards Platinum Card that I current hold. Then a few days later, I found out from blogger Lonely Reload that you can get RM 30 Groupon Credit for free when you apply for Citibank Clear Card via Ringgit Plus.

AEON Card Merdeka Special Rebate on Petrol

The New AEON Credit Card is the only AEON card that gives 5% cash rebate to its cardholders on last Sunday of each month. In conjunction with the Merdeka Day celebration, AEON is extending the 5% cash rebate on petrol purchase in all petrol stations in Malaysia to all existing Principal and Supplementary Credit Cardholders from 23rd August until 1st September 2014.

All existing Principal and Supplementary Credit Cardholders listed below are eligible to enjoy the savings on petrol purchase except for AEON Prepaid MasterCard Cardholder:

Transactions made by a Supplementary Cardholder will be aggregated with those of the Principal Cardholder but only the Principal Cardholder will be entitled to enjoy the redemption of the rebate on fuel Spent. The total rebate earned will be indicated on the monthly statement of account addressed to the Principal Cardholder.Rebate on Fuel spent will be reflected in the following month’s statement.

Public Bank Credit Card Cash Back Bonanza

Public Bank is having its Cash Back Bonanza with Credit Card campaign from 4th August 2014 until 4th January 2015. There are two promotions in the campaign, namely the card acquisition cum activation offer promotion and cash back promotion. The first one is open to new-to-bank customers who apply for any Public Bank credit card as Principal Cardmembers (except co-brand credit card) while the latter is open to all new and existing Public Bank Principal Credit Cardmembers.

Tesco-RHB Cards

MyEG-RHB Credit Card is a credit card with Visa payWave feature that rewards you with up to 5X Reward Points when you pay utility bills, renew your road tax or use any services available at MyEG portal or all MyEG Counters. SCB Credit Card 2014 10% Cash Back Promotion

After Citibank's Choose Your Own Cash Back Promotion, Standard Chartered Bank also launched its 10% Cash Back Promotion for invited credit card-members (through SMS and/or email and/or Direct Mailer) of any SCB credit card (other than corporate cards). The campaign started on 14th June 2014 and ends on 5th September 2014.

Credit Card Contactless Payment

When we make payment with our credit card during shopping, the cashier will slot our card into a card reader and key in the amount to proceed. Then the card reader will contact the card centre and print out two copies of transaction slips upon confirmation. Once we put our signature on the merchant copy of the slip, then only the transaction is completed.

UOB Credit Card Promotion

Recently, UOB Bank has been very active in promoting its Credit Cards. You can easily notice UOB Credit Card booth in most of the shopping complexes. UOB has 3 attractive promotions for cardholders especially during the CNY season.

From 10th Jan until 30th Jan 2014, all UOBM Credit Cardholders (except Corporate, Purchasing and Private Label Cards) can enjoy 10% Cash Rebate at ALL hyper/supermarket or departmental stores nationwide with minimum spend of RM 250 in a single receipt. Each Cardmember is only entitled to a maximum of RM 50 Cash Rebate per Transaction Week. The maximum Cash Rebate payout is capped at RM 50000 per Transaction Week and will be awarded on a first come first served basis.

Do you plan to have family reunion dinner outside? From 10th Jan until 15th February 2014, the first 1388 Cardmembers who meet the cumulative dining spend of RM 500 and above using a UOB Credit or Debit Card at any restaurant will be entitled to receive SMART$ at a rate of 5% on such spending.

The last promotion is exclusively for UOB One Card. From 1st February to 30th April 2014, UOB One Cardmembers can get 5% Rebate + 5% Smart Cash at BHPetrol stations. New petrol cap will be aslo effective from 1st February 2014 onwards. The maximum monthly Cash Rebate payout for the rebate category of petrol is RM 900000 which is to be given out on a first come first serve basis.

If you're not UOB Credit Cardmembers, you can sign up for UOB Cards online. From 1st January to 31st March 2014, new successful applicants will get RM 50 cash back with minimum 3 swipes within 60 days from card approval date.

HSBC Credit Card CNY Online Promotion

Chinese New Year is less than 4 weeks from now. With HSBC CNY Online Promotion, you can get up to RM 488 when you apply online and spend with HSBC Credit Card. The sign-up period is from 1st January until 28th February 2014.

The promotion is open to any individual who resides in Malaysia and applies for any of the following primary HSBC Bank/ HSBC Amanah credit cards online during sign-up period which then subsequently approved by the bank:

3. HSBC Visa Platinum Credit Card

The eligible cardholder will receive RM 68 cash back (Ang Pao1 offer) with minimum 3 swipes within 60 days from the date of the welcome letter.  There is a maximum of 245 units of Ang Pao1 offer and eligible cardholder will be awarded per card on a first-come first-serve basis and subject to availability.

The eligible cardholder will receive RM 126 cash back (Ang Pao2 offer) with a minimum spend of RM 1500 per calendar month from the date of the welcome letter until 30th June 2014. Each eligible cardholder is entitled to receive a maximum of RM 252 cash back per card, which will be given on a first-come first-serve basis, subject to the availability maximum of 490 units of Ang Pao2 offer.

Every 8th approved eligible cardholder will receive additional RM 168 cash back (Lucky 8 offer) when the spend criteria of Ang Pao1 and Ang Pao2 offers were satisfied. The 8th approved eligible cardholder is determined based on the records in the bank's systems when the fulfillment of offers is carried out and there is a maximum of 50 units of Lucky 8 offer.

AEON Credit Card New Features

AEON initiated a series of rebranding promotion for AEON BiG in Year 2013, including the announcement of AEON BiG Thank You Day on every 28th of the month and the launch of its free AEON BiG Membercard. Now, AEON Credit Service under AEON Group had added new features to its Credit Cards to attract more new customers.

There are a few types of Credit Card offered by AEON Credit Service. The most popular ones are NEW AEON Credit Card and AEON Watami Credit Card. The NEW AEON Credit Card is a credit card linked to the AEON MEMBER Card (previously known as J-Card) to collect AEON MEMBER Points with the features as below:

The points earned can be used to redeem AEON Gift Voucher that does not have an expiry date. With 2500 points, AEON member can redeem a RM 20 voucher, which is equivalent to 1.6% rebate for spending in AEON. This card is very suitable for you if you are a frequent shopper in AEON and AEON BiG.

Alliance Bank You:nique Credit Card

After OCBC Bank decided to revise its credit cards' features, OCBC Titanium Card already lost its place as the best cash rebate credit card. It is time for us to look for other cash rebate credit cards as a replacement.

Alliance Bank's You:nique Credit Card is the first and only credit card in Malaysia that lets you design your own card face and customize your own features. You can either upload your own image or choose from the You:nique image library to add personal touch to your card face.

Besides, you can get monthly cash rebates up to 3% on all retail purchases everyday and everywhere. The cash back factor is based on the monthly spending range of your card:

Let's say, If you spend RM 3000 per month, 

for first RM 1000, you will get 0.50% cash back, which is RM 5;

for third RM 1000, you will get 3.00% cash back, which is RM 30.

The total cash back you get is RM 50, which is equivalent to 1.67%.

Moreover, you can get double Timeless Bonus Points (TBP) for every ringgit you spend. All local and overseas retail purchases except petrol and government agencies will entitle you to 2X rewards. Your TBP do not expire and you can redeem whenever you like, with special redemption privileges and discounts from time to time. The double TBP is equivalent to 0.82% of cash rebate.

Annual fee will be waived for first 3 years, thereafter waived with a minimum spend of RM 5000 or 12 swipes within 12 months. For new approved applicants, you can enjoy 0% finance charge on all your spending for the first 3 months. No interest is charged during this period no matter how much you spend.

If your monthly spend is around RM 3000, this card is suitable for you as it gives you almost 2.5% cash back every month without terms and conditions.

RHB EVO Card Buy 1 Free 1 MBO Movie Ticket

Other than Standard Chartered Credit Card promotion, RHB also launched a buy 1 free 1 MBO movie ticket promotion for RHB EVO Credit Card from 16th November 2013 until 16th February 2014. Besides, cardmembers also get to enjoy 20% Cash Back on purchase of the MBO movie ticket.

The promotion is only applicable on every Saturday and Sunday. To enjoy the promotion, cardmembers will need to purchase movie ticket at MBO Cinema's counter with RHB EVO Visa or MasterCard Credit Cards. Each cardmember can only redeem 1 complimentary ticket per day regardless of the total number of ticket purchased.

The promotion is applicable to all movies and adult ticket (digital 2D and 3D movies), standard seat, Premium Seat at all screening halls purchased at MBO Box Office Counters. The promotion is not applicable for Couple Seats, tickets purchased online, students, children, senior citizens and disabled ticket type.

Year end school holidays have just started and it is a good time to bring your family for a movie. The only drawback is that MBO Cinema outlets are not available in some states.

SCB JustOne Platinum MasterCard Credit Card

Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) was giving out 15% cash back for petrol to all new cardholders for a period of 6 months in its previous promotion. Now, SCB has launched a new card, the JustOne Platinum MasterCard Credit Card, that gives you 15% rebates at all petrol stations for life!

To be eligible for the 15% rebates, you just need to spend a minimum of RM 999 per month in retail purchases and you will receive petrol cash back up to RM 576 per annum. You will enjoy petrol cash back in the following situations:

For new to SCB customers, you can apply online and get RM 300 cash back. For existing customers or customers who apply through branch and roadshow, you can get RM 105 cash back.

RHB Friday Specials 2013 Wave 2

RHB Friday Specials is back with its Wave 2 promotion, starting from today until 27th December 2013! This promotion is applicable to all RHB Bank and Easy by RHB Credit or Debit cardmembers.

CIMB Weekly Cash Back Promotion

Hari Raya Aidilfitri is just around the corner and CIMB is giving out a total cash back of RM 700000 to its Credit Card and Debit Card members on spending from 5th August until 13th October 2013.

The campaign is open to CIMB Principal and Supplementary Cardmembers, as well as CIMB Debit Cardmembers. Each Principal Cardmember and Debit Cardmember can get RM 250 cash back for spending at least RM 1000 in a week. Cash back of RM 70000 is allocated weekly and is given out on first come first served basis.

The maximum cash back per Principal Cardmember and Debit Cardmember is RM 250 each. So if you have a CIMB Credit Card and CIMB Debit Card, you can earn RM 500 with spending of RM 1000 in each card.

To participate, cardmembers need to register via SMS only once during the campaign period:

10% Cash Back at All Petrol Stations with RHB Travel Money

RHB is giving out up to 10% cash back for petrol purchase at all petrol stations nationwide with its Travel Money Credit Card, starting from 1st August until 31st October 2013.

This is how the cash back works for Travel Money cardmembers during the campaign:
